HYBE Visits Media Outlets to Spread False Information about NewJeans, said Fanbase
On February 3rd, a topic titled, “NewJeans Fanbase Team Bunnies received reports that HYBE’s PR Team leader is visiting media outlets” was published on the Korean forum ‘theqoo’, drawing attention.
The topic cited a recent update from NewJeans’ famous fanbase “Team Bunnies”, which said that the “HYBE-style media play” has exceeded acceptable limits following the termination of NewJeans’ contract with the agency.
“Some media outlets are illegally using personal information and indiscriminately reporting articles containing false information without following proper fact-checking procedures for both parties, and the act of re-disseminating such articles by citing them has also reached a serious level”, the fanbase also stated, adding, “We have also received several reports via the Team Bunnies email from journalists regarding the recent spread of false information through new accounts created by the parents of the five members.”
Additionally, Team Bunnies claimed that they also heard from journalists that the PR team leader of HYBE is “once again visiting media outlets” in an attempt to continue their previous malicious media play.
“We urge you to stop engaging in anachronistic interference with media companies, collusive business practices, and actions that obstruct the careers of artists who are no longer under your management, and instead adopt a rational and professional attitude”, the fanbase also requested.
Meanwhile, since April, Team Bunnies has been archiving all articles disseminated by HYBE and certain media outlets, and has been preparing their own analysis materials. The fanbase plans to deliver everything to the law firm representing the five members as evidence for the injunction trial in the near future.
